A statement signed by an Assistant Director, Media Relations, Mr Mohammed Manga, for the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, recently, said the scheme is to address the challenges of housing of the civil servants.
He said the project themed “The Federal Integrated Staff Housing” (FISH) programme which is in collaboration with ABSI Building System International, represents the current administration’s passion as solving the problem of housing deficit in the nation.
The statement stated further that the project which is an initiative of the office of the head of the civil service of the federation will enable workers to deliver their service with optimum leverage.
The head of service, Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita the statement revealed stated that the aim of the programme is to provide cost effective and affordable housing for various categories of workers as a means to uplift their moral commitment, stewardship and quality of life during and after service.
She stated further that the initiative also signpost the development agenda of the present administration in addressing the housing challenges facing the Federal Civil Servants across the country and to provide mass housing for Nigerians.
She therefore urged the government for special intervention fund through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to be channeled to civil servants as loans, through the staff housing loans board.
