Due to continuing decrease in revenue accruing to Government from Oil and the urgent need to invest more in Capital Projects rather than Recurrent Expenditure in the implementation of  yearly Budget, the Federal Ministry of Finance has established an Efficiency Unit(E-Unit), to enable it achieve a better cost structure for the government and derive maximum value for money spent.

Officials of the Nigerian Government and Republic of The Gambia have met in Abuja to share experiences of Public Service Reforms implementation among the two brotherly African Countries. The delegation from the Gambia on familiarisation visit to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) was led by a Permanent Secretary, Personnel Management Office, Office of the President, Republic of The Gambia, Alhaji Dawdah Fadera.

The Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms Dr. Joe Abah has unveiled the current key reforms in the Civil Service. Dr. Abah unveiled the current reforms at a lecture he delivered at the Institute for Security Studies in Abuja recently to participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course on “Public Service Reforms and Institutions Building”.

The Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr. Joe Abah has advised the Directorate for International Development-Learning, Evidencing And Advocacy Pillars (DFID-LEAP) to be wary of the mistakes made by DFID-FEPAR (Federal Public Administration on Reforms) its predecessor by not recognizing  BPSR which by Federal Government directive is the official clearing house of all interventions on reforms.
