The Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Dr. Joe Abah, has urged the federal government to strengthen the civil service if donor intervention is to deliver the desired change promised Nigerians by the current administration.

Due to continuing decrease in revenue accruing to Government from Oil and the urgent need to invest more in Capital Projects rather than Recurrent Expenditure in the implementation of  yearly Budget, the Federal Ministry of Finance has established an Efficiency Unit(E-Unit), to enable it achieve a better cost structure for the government and derive maximum value for money spent.

Officials of the Nigerian Government and Republic of The Gambia have met in Abuja to share experiences of Public Service Reforms implementation among the two brotherly African Countries. The delegation from the Gambia on familiarisation visit to the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) was led by a Permanent Secretary, Personnel Management Office, Office of the President, Republic of The Gambia, Alhaji Dawdah Fadera.
