Ag. DG BPSR MAKES CASE FOR e-GOVERNANCE

The Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), Mr. D. I. Arabi has observed that the only way Nigeria can remain relevant in the global economy is to embrace e- Governance and implement in full the Executive Order 001 on the Ease of Doing Business.

The Ag. Director- General who made this observation recently in Abuja while receiving the reports of the Sub-Committees on the Development of Criteria for the Ranking of Websites of Federal Public Institutions, said e-Governance is taking over and government is forcing Public Institutions to expand their horizons by having online presence that connects with the world.

He extolled Public Servants who worked on the reports for the professionalism and commitment exhibited in the discharge of their duties.

While expressing optimism on the actualization of the programme and its eventual deployment in the Public Service, Mr. Arabi said the Bureau will generate buy-ins and support from donor agencies and from well-meaning individuals.

He commended the MDAs for releasing their staff to be part of the programme and the Right to Know (R2K) group, an NGO sponsored by MacArthur Foundation for their continued support and collaboration.

Speaking earlier, Mrs. Ene Nwankpa, the Coordinator, R2K thanked the members for the speed and energy deployed in producing the reports and prayed that they would bring same to bear in future engagements.
