Okon Mercy Iquo

Biography

Okon Mercy Iquo is a vibrant, resourceful, and experienced civil servant hailing from Idebe in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State. Born on October 26, 1964, she completed her secondary education at Holy Child College in Ikoyi, Lagos, graduating in 1981. She then pursued higher education at the University of Maiduguri, where she earned a B.A. (Hons) in History in 1985, followed by an M.Sc. in International Relations in 1989.

Ms. Iquo began her career in the Federal Civil Service in 1991 as a Personnel Officer II, SGL. 08. Over the years, she advanced through the ranks, achieving the position of Deputy Director in 2019. Throughout her career, she has served in various ministries before her current assignment at the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, where she heads the Strategy, Innovation, and Research Department.

Okon Mercy Iquo possesses a diverse skill set, including expertise in project planning, knowledge management and development, organizational leadership, and project management. She has participated in numerous capacity-building programs, seminars, and conferences both domestically and internationally. Notably, she attended the Nigeria-China Bilateral Trade Relations Course in China, further enhancing her professional development.
