In it’s effort to cut youth restiveness and reduce unemployment in the country, the Federal Government has initiated a Social Intervention Scheme called N-Power to capture those unemployed across the country.

Flagging off the programme quartered by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Productivity, Senator Chris Ngige, urged the Nigerian Youth to register and partake as they stand to benefit.
Named ‘School-To-Work Programme’, the programme debuted in Calabar, the Cross River State capital on 28th August, 2016.
Sen. Ngige said that so far, only about 1.2 million persons have registered, while calling on Local Government Chairmen to move into Rural Areas and register the unemployed persons that can be considered for the Scheme.
Each state of the Federation is expected to recruit 1,500 persons.
N-Power is one of the initiatives of the N5 billion president Muhammadu Buhari’s social intervention programme designed to empower young Nigerians from ages 18-35 with Life-Long Skills to find or create work.
It is segment into:-
1.   N-power, Teachers Corps, Agriculture and Health.
2.   N-Power Knowledge for ICT.
3.   N-Power Building for building services and Artisans training.
