The Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) has for the second consecutive time won the first position out of 166 public institutions examined for its freedom of information compliance and for proactive disclosure of its procurement processes.
Making the presentation of the award to the Head, Reform Coordination, BPSR, Ms. Amonia Standfat who represented the Ag. Director-General, Mr. D. I. Arabi in Abuja recently, the Chief Executive Officer of Public and Private Development Centre, (PPDC), a non-govermental organization, Seember Nyager noted that the idea is to encourage public organisations to proactive disclosure, adding that if the information is put out, nobody would bother anyone because they know where to find it.
Responding on behalf of the Bureau, Ms. Standfast lauded PPDC for its commitment to ensuring transparency in government business, observing that the recognition for hard work is more hard work and promised that the Bureau as a reform agency will constantly do all it takes to always lead by example.
