According to the DG, the theme of the seminar: “Leading and Managing Change” is apt given the fact that the current government came with change mantra and adding that change in itself does not come easy, and therefore enjoined the Directors to work more closely with their ministries to deliver on various reforms being implemented in the public service.
Dr Abah said that a committee to further examine the “Orosanye Report” has been reconstituted by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the committee would meet soon with the Directors of Reform coordination participating fully.
He also said that the “Lunch Time Seminar Series” which was put on hold has been restored by the current Head of Civil Service and expressed gratitude to the Head of Service for this gesture.
Speaking earlier, the Director, GMSI, Professor Victor Ayeni said the seminar was organized to deepen the existing partnership between BPSR and his organization and promised to build on it. He further said BPSR is the leading organization in the reform of the public service, adding that the collaboration between BPSR and his organization had been mutual beneficial.
The seminar x-rayed habits that negates change and how they can be overcome. It is summed up in the saying that when you behave same way, you get same result; but when you behave differently, you get different result.
